Services

Six services. One office. Coordinated.

Each service is delivered on a defined cadence, on a fixed monthly figure. Nothing overlaps with the next thing badly, and nothing lands as a surprise.

Bookkeeping & monthly reporting

Clean books, closed on a monthly cycle, with a plain-English summary you can act on.

We keep your books current, reconcile bank and credit-card accounts monthly, and close each period so the numbers you look at are the numbers you can file from. Software choice is driven by fit — QuickBooks Online, Xero, or a Sage setup you already run — and we standardise the chart of accounts so month-over-month comparisons hold up.

What it covers

  • Bank, credit-card, and merchant account reconciliations
  • HST tracking on every transaction, ready for filing
  • Payables and receivables aging so nothing slips
  • Month-end close with a review checklist

Who it suits

Owner-operated corporations and professional practices that want reliable monthly numbers without hiring in-house.

Cadence

Monthly close, delivered by the 15th of the following month.

You hand over

  • Read-only bank and credit-card feeds
  • Receipts (Hubdoc, Dext, or a shared drive works)
  • Sales system exports if applicable

You get back

  • A closed month within a fixed cutoff
  • A short profit-and-loss with variance notes
  • A working balance sheet you can walk through

Corporate tax (T2) & year-end

Year-end financial statements and a defensible T2 return, filed on time.

We prepare year-end adjustments, produce Notice to Reader financial statements, and file the T2 corporate return with the CRA. Where you have inter-company transactions, shareholder loans, capital cost allowance decisions, or dividend versus salary questions, we walk through the tradeoffs before we file — not after.

What it covers

  • Year-end adjusting entries and working papers
  • GIFI schedules and CCA class tracking
  • T2 filing with the CRA, including short years and amendments
  • Instalment planning for the year ahead

Who it suits

Canadian-controlled private corporations, professional corporations, and holding companies.

Cadence

Annual, within six months of fiscal year-end.

You hand over

  • Trial balance and general ledger
  • Prior-year return and notice of assessment
  • Loan agreements and inter-company balances

You get back

  • Compilation-engagement financial statements
  • Filed T2 with a copy of the assessment
  • A short memo on next-year planning items

Personal tax (T1) — including self-employed & rental

T1 returns for owner-operators, professionals, landlords, and everyone in between.

Personal returns for anyone whose situation is beyond a simple T4 — self-employed schedules, rental statements, capital gains from real estate or investments, foreign-property reporting, prior-year clean-ups, and voluntary disclosures where they apply.

What it covers

  • T1 with all applicable schedules (T2125, T776, T1135, T1-M, and more)
  • RRSP, TFSA, and FHSA planning around contribution room
  • Capital gains and ACB tracking
  • CRA correspondence, reassessments, and objections

Who it suits

Self-employed professionals, landlords, incorporated owners taking dividends, newcomers to Canada, and families with more than one income source.

Cadence

Annual filing; June 15 deadline where a return includes self-employment income.

You hand over

  • All T-slips and receipts
  • Rental income and expense records
  • Prior-year return if new to us

You get back

  • Prepared and e-filed return
  • A summary of what changed year-over-year
  • Next-year contribution and instalment guidance

Payroll, T4/T5, WSIB & source deductions

Payroll processed, remittances made, and year-end slips issued on time.

Full-cycle payroll for small teams — pay runs, statutory holiday and vacation accruals, ROEs, source-deduction remittances to the CRA, WSIB filings for Ontario employers, and year-end T4 and T5 slips filed and distributed.

What it covers

  • Semi-monthly or bi-weekly pay runs
  • CPP, EI, and income-tax remittances
  • ROE issuance on terminations
  • WSIB reconciliations
  • Year-end T4 / T4A / T5 preparation and filing

Who it suits

Employers with two to fifty employees, and owner-managers taking a T4 salary from their corporation.

Cadence

Per pay period; annual year-end filings by the last day of February.

You hand over

  • Employee onboarding forms (TD1, direct deposit)
  • Hours or salary details each period
  • Notice of any changes to compensation

You get back

  • Payroll register and pay stubs
  • Remittance confirmations
  • Year-end slips filed with the CRA

HST filing & CRA correspondence

Quarterly or annual HST returns, and a real person to write back when the CRA does.

We prepare and file HST returns on the schedule you registered for, handle the CRA on your behalf when a review letter shows up, and represent you on audits, pre-assessment reviews, and objections. Where a filing position is aggressive, we tell you so — before the return goes in.

What it covers

  • HST return preparation and filing
  • Input tax credit reviews
  • Quick Method versus regular method analysis
  • CRA reviews, audits, and objections

Who it suits

Any business over the small-supplier threshold, and any business that has received a CRA letter it does not know how to answer.

Cadence

Quarterly or annual, per your CRA registration.

You hand over

  • Access to bookkeeping records
  • Any CRA correspondence in full
  • Authorization to represent (RC59) where applicable

You get back

  • Filed HST return
  • A written response to the CRA on file
  • A summary of the outcome and any follow-ups

Notice to Reader & advisory

Compilation engagements plus advisory on structure, remuneration, and cash flow.

Compilation engagement reports (formerly Notice to Reader) for lender and shareholder use, and ongoing advisory on structure — holdco/opco setups, share-class planning, salary-versus-dividend mixes, and the cash-flow calendar that keeps quarterly instalments and HST filings from surprising you.

What it covers

  • CSRS 4200 compilation engagement reports
  • Remuneration mix analysis
  • Cash-flow forecasting and instalment planning
  • Bank and financing package preparation

Who it suits

Corporations that need a formal financial statement package for a lender or shareholder, and owners who want a second set of eyes on structural decisions.

Cadence

Engagement-based; typically alongside year-end.

You hand over

  • Access to the bookkeeping file
  • The purpose the statements will be used for
  • Any lender or shareholder requirements

You get back

  • A signed compilation engagement report
  • Working papers to support the numbers
  • A short memo on any planning items surfaced

Common questions

Short answers to what most people ask before they call. If yours isn't here, the fastest path is the phone.

  • How do you price engagements?

On a fixed monthly retainer, defined in a written scope after a short discovery call. The retainer covers everything in the scope — bookkeeping cycles, HST filings, payroll, year-end, and CRA correspondence for the entities you name — with no per-email or per-call charges.

  • Which accounting software do you work with?

QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Sage day-to-day. Documents typically flow through Hubdoc or Dext, or a shared drive if the volume is low. We do not require you to switch platforms unless the current one is genuinely blocking the work.

  • Do you handle CRA reviews and audits?

Yes. We respond to CRA review letters, represent clients on pre-assessment reviews and full audits under the RC59 authorisation, and file notices of objection where the assessed position is wrong. This is included in the retainer for existing clients.

  • Can you take over from another accountant mid-year?

Yes, and this is common. We handle the file transfer, review any prior-year positions that need cleanup, and get the current-year cycle back on schedule. The first few months usually include a heavier setup component; the ongoing figure normalises after that.

  • Do you work with clients outside Mississauga?

Yes. The office is on Robert Speck Parkway in Mississauga, and we serve clients across Peel Region and the wider GTA in person, plus remote clients across Ontario. Software, documents, and CRA correspondence run the same way regardless of where the client is.

Not sure which service you need?

Start with a short call — the scope writes itself.

Bookkeeping-only, year-end-only, and full-stack engagements are all fine. The right starting point is usually clearer after fifteen minutes of context.
